Are you an Apple enthusiast wanting to swiftly take a screenshot on your Mac? Whether you’re using a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or an iMac, we have you covered. At Letusrepair, we understand your tech needs and aim to make your experience seamless. So, let’s dive in to make screenshotting on Mac a breeze!

Effortless Screenshotting on Mac

Step 1 – Full Screen Capture:

If you wish to capture the entirety of your screen, press Command-Shift-3. Voila! A snapshot of your full screen has been taken.

Step 2 – Partial Screen Capture:

For capturing a specific portion of your screen, hit Shift-Command-4. This command transforms your cursor into a crosshair. Drag this to select the desired part of your screen. To capture, just release the mouse button or the trackpad.

Step 3 – Panel for Screen Capture Options:

This method is for those with MacOS Mojave (2018) or later. Press Shift-Command-5 to bring up a panel at the bottom of your screen, providing you with diverse screen capture options. You can choose from capturing your full screen, a particular window, or a selected portion of your screen.

Step 4 – Bonus for MacBook with Touch Bar:

If you own a 16-inch MacBook Pro or any model equipped with a Touch Bar, you’re in luck. You can capture a screenshot of the Touch Bar display by pressing Command-Shift-6. This command captures an elongated and skinny screenshot of your Touch Bar.

Locating Your Screenshots

By default, your screenshots are saved on your desktop, titled as “Screen Shot 2023 at [time].png”. However, MacOS Mojave or later allows you to alter the default location of saved screenshots. You can access this feature from the Options menu in the Screenshot app. Moreover, you can drag the thumbnail to any folder or document.

Extra Tips

  • With MacOS Mojave or later, the Screenshot app lets you set a timer and select the location to save screenshots. Just press Shift, Command, and 5 together to access this app.
  • Some apps, like the Apple TV app, may not permit screenshot capture of their windows.
  • Want to copy a screenshot to the Clipboard? Press and hold the Control key while taking the screenshot. Now you can paste this screenshot wherever you wish. Alternatively, you can use Universal Clipboard to paste it on another Apple device.

At Letusrepair, we believe in making technology simpler for you. Follow these steps to ensure that “screenshot on mac” is never a daunting task again!
